Bio Ritmo interview - tomorrow, 7PM
I'll be speaking with ace salsa ensemble Bio Ritmo tomorrow at 7PM (aka interview o'clock) on CIUT, in anticipation of their return engagement at Lula Lounge tomorrow and Thursday
It's tempting to call them progressive salsa, but what's great about them is that they go back to the golden years of salsa experimentation and carry on in the same spirit.
Musically, it will be Endless Bummer, Pt. 2: more selections from the wallet of discs assembled for Bummer In The Summer two Fridays ago. I taped all 4 1/2 hours on minidisc and will be editing some CDs together from the results. But, there's always more music to play and crazy new stuff lately, including the Hallelujah Chicken Run Band (early Thomas Mapfumo, who played Harbourfront last night and is at the ElMo on Friday).
